"I’ve always liked cardboard and cardboard boxes as a versatile and freely available material. I used cardboard boxes (with help) to make a robot costume at primary school then assemblages at secondary school, environments that you could crawl through at art school, play spaces and equipment for my children in their turn.
Flattened cardboard boxes were the material that I distributed for workshops that I ran in art schools and were also the basis of a group of my sculptures in the early 90s."
