Jacques Adnet defines himself as an "innovator and classicist, a champion of the tradition leading toward the future." Infatuated with functionalism, he created solidly constructed furniture, very sober and often times completely lacking of all decor. There are still remincisings of ancient styles. A clear conception, logic and raffined materials make up the characteristics of production that Adnet frequently realized in collaboration with his younger brother Jean Adnet.


Despite his training as an architect, Jacques Adnet does not conceive furniture as elements of the interior space, but more like perfectly independent entities.
